In the spring of 2010, the first fast-food bar of the Salad Station chain was opened in a late-19th-century building in Istanbul. The choice of natural, untreated materials is meant to parallel the natural foodstuffs used for the meals served there. The great success of the restaurant helped the chain to grow quickly, so that there are now five addresses. All are based on a similar concept, with refrigerated shelves for self-service drinks and salads, and a long counter where other meals can be ordered. Common to all Salad Stations is their green logo, the form of which is borrowed from the London Underground. Green is also the dominant colour of the floors and shelving, thereby creating a high recognition value.
